PLANT TREES IN MEMORY OF BABIES LOST TO MISCARRIAGE AND STILLBIRTH
We are the Lowe family. My name is Stacey and my husband’s name is Dana. Dana and I were high school sweethearts and we have been together since one week before Valentine’s Day, 1999. We have three daughters: Kailyn, Ashley and Sarah.
In April of 2007, when I was roughly 39 weeks into my second pregnancy, our beautiful daughter Ashley was born still. She passed away from an umbilical cord accident. My husband, who is in the Navy, was supposed to be deployed at the time of her delivery but by the Grace of God, one of his superiors allowed him to stay home for her birth, not even knowing we were going to lose her. It was by this miracle, that he and I both got the opportunity to hold our little girl in the hospital and say goodbye.
In 2010, my husband changed duty stations and we moved from California to Washington and bought our first home. The first thing we did was pick out the most beautiful tree we could find (a thundercloud plum), in honor of our daughter Ashley. We picked this tree because I had mom-intuition that purple would have been Ashley’s favorite color and Thunderclouds have a beautiful purplish coloring to them.
That same year, on her birthday, April 4th, I can remember not wanting to get out of bed. Just as every year, on her birthday, the grief was agonizing and almost too much to bear. However, I pulled every last bit of strength together and decided to go visit her tree. As soon as I stepped foot outside, I saw Ashley’s tree lighting up the morning with a gorgeous bloom of light pink flowers. Her tree had bloomed on her birthday.
I remember standing there in awe and thinking to myself that part of Ashley’s soul was somehow living on through her tree. I knew there was a chance this could have happened by coincidence but my heart told me there are no coincidences that great in this world. It was at that moment, I considered the possibility of helping grieving parents in the future by somehow being able to plant trees in the memories of their lost babies. Even though I could not make that happen at the time, I kept the idea with me and knew I would revisit it again in the future.
In 2019, we bought an older equestrian property on 7.5 acres. As soon as we first saw the land, I knew it was going to be a turning point in our lives. I remembered back to 2010, when I thought about helping other grieving parents and knew this would be the perfect opportunity to change the world for the better. Immediately, my husband and I decided to name our property Ashley’s Acres and I began studying propagation and other methods of growing trees. Within a few short months of that time, Ashley's Acres Tree Farm transitioned from an idea, to a reality.
We will be selling trees with the names and birthdates (or due dates), of babies who have died from miscarriage or stillbirth. Each tree will have a tag attached, printed with this information, so that the baby’s memory will remain with the tree for all of its life. Parents will have the opportunity to purchase a tree of their choice, with their child’s information. Or, they may contact us and provide their child’s information, so that another caring family may purchase a tree in their baby’s memory.
Our wish is for every baby who never got a chance to take a breath in this world, to now have the opportunity to live on through a living, biological organism. Not only will our baby’s memories live on but their souls will help in purifying the oxygen on our planet, so that other babies may be born breathing the air they assisted in creating.

Your kind contribution will help us continue our mission. We need your help to give new life to trees in memory of babies lost to miscarriage and stillbirth. This is for the health of our planet but most of all, this is for Ashley and all the other little angels out there, who never got the chance to grow.
